Highway Robbers. I have mechanical experience, I know they tried to get me to replace a water pump , all I needed was a new radiator hose . The pump was fine, all I had was a blown radiator hose. I pulled the car in to get a diagnosis and an estimate for repairs. The diagnosis was a simple task, they did not diagnose, they lied . They gave me an estimate for $800, I decided to do the work myself. Going on the word of their technician I went and bought the parts and went to work on the car myself. Parts were 1/2 price of their Quote. As a result of their condemnation of the water pump I spent two hours to figure out that the water pump was perfect. I replaced the radiator hose in ten minutes, a $26 part. As a result of their callous Disregard for my predicament, I was delayed enough to get caught in a blinding snowstorm on the way home, which was very scary. Do not trust these guys, they will take advantage of your predicament and rip you off.
Fact 1) after arriving at the store the first words from the customers mouth was, “can you replace a water pump”. As we replied yes we can. Fact 2) second response the customer stated “my water pump seized while driving and the vehicle overheated and the upper radiator hose blew off and sprayed coolant everywhere”. At this point we typically don’t automatically assume incompetence by anyone and took the information of the symptoms and subsequent occurrence as truth. Opening the hood there was duck tape on the upper hose and coolant everywhere with the water pump making an enormous amount of noise. We did give the customer an estimate for exactly what was requested based what we saw under the hood and the customers description of the incident, but the customer decided to fix the vehicle themself. It’s is funny that most of the initial contact conversation was missing from this review. But it was clear that this customer wanted to fight regardless, which was ultimately why we asked them to leave. Remember folk grifters come in all shapes and sizes.
